A new year does not reset the world.
This is a saying that I have been telling people every new year for the past three years.
You most likely had some new realities you wanted to achieve this year.
I am here to remind you that it takes work and intentionality.
And as you already know, it won’t be easy.
One thing that we fall prey to is being busy.
But being busy doesn’t mean that you are productive.
Today is Saturday and you are most likely a bit more free than other weekdays.
But even if you aren’t.
Pick up your phone now and set an alarm for a time on Sunday or any other day that you are more free.
The purpose of the alarm is to review your daily routine and see where your time is leaking out from.
Don’t worry I will use myself as a case study below so you get more understanding.
But you have to first set the alarm now.
Don’t say that you will do it later.
There is a 99% chance you won’t.
Done?
Let’s proceed.
Understanding Canon Events
A canon event has different definitions based on what you are trying to explain.
But at the basic level.
It is something that happened in the past that is greatly affecting the future.
In movies, it is used to describe an event that led to character development.
Like how being bitten by a radioactive spider gave Peter Parker spider-like abilities.
Or how the murder of Bruce Wayne's parents shaped him into becoming Batman.
Canon events are very powerful.
No matter how powerful you are, you can’t change them.
And as proven by movies that explore the concept of time travel.
Going back in time to change a canon event never ends well.
So why am I talking about Canon events?
I have found out that it affects us on a smaller scale in our day-to-day activities.
Here are some of mine;
Going to bed late greatly affects my productivity the following day.
Opening Twitter early in the day affects my focus for that day.
A failure to do my morning devotion affects my clarity for the day.
Failure to make an important call or send an important message at the right time affects my relationships and work.
I could go on and on, but anytime my productivity is affected, I can always trace it back to one or more of these things.
So when that alarm that you set earlier rings.
Sit down and start pointing out those things that affect your ability to work on those goals that you have for the year.
3% of the year is already gone.
It might look like a small number.
But the days quickly add up.
By now, if you are truthful to yourself,
You will know how well you are at following the routine that will help you achieve your goals for the year.
See, you can’t wish those things into reality.
So unless you want to deceive yourself again this year.
You need to do a review and see if you are on the right track.
If you are, keep it up.
If you aren’t, find out those daily canon events that are holding you back.
New Year Offers For You
Last week I ran three bootcamps.
Below are the three BootCamps and what I aimed to achieve with them.
Faith Bootcamp: Having a solid walk with God and clarity of purpose.
Skill Bootcamp: Building a profitable career roadmap.
Business Bootcamp: Building a profitable community-led business.
A lot was taught during these sessions.
I also want to extend 3 one-on-one sessions to my subscribers.
On the 1st of February,
I will have a one-hour one-on-one consulting session with the three highest referrals for this newsletter.
i.e. A one-hour private call with each person.
During the call, I will examine the things that you need help with a personally create a roadmap that will help you this year.
It can be for your faith, business, or your high-income skill acquisition journey.
I can also do a second batch (i.e six people)
If the response rate for this is high.
